Snow Emergency.

If the city of Minneapolis has declared a Snow Emergency, here's what that means for your visit.

Day 1

9p - 8a (Overnight)
Do not park on either side of a Snow Emergency Route until 8a the next morning, or until the street is fully plowed.

What to do?
Park Ave and 26th St are both Snow Emergency Routes, so park on Columbus Ave or in the building garage.

Day 2

8a - 8p
Do not park on the even-numbered side of a non-Snow Emergency Route until 8p, or that side of the street is fully plowed. Do not park on either side of a parkway until 8p or the parkway is fully plowed.

What to do?
Park Ave and 26th St are now okay to park on as well as the odd side of Columbus Ave, or in the building garage.

Day 3

8a - 8p
Do not park on the odd-numbered side of a non-Snow Emergency Route until 8p, or that side of the street is fully plowed.

What to do?
Park Ave and 26th St are okay to park on as well as the even side of Columbus Ave, or in the building garage.

Using the garage. When it's super cold.

The keypad to the garage cannot withstand sub-zero temperatures, and so may become frozen ... brrrrrr. If you plan to park in the building garage then please arrive early and give the garage attendant a few minutes to see you and let you in manually. They know to watch for guests, but they also have to move cars and provide other services so they aren't always right there. You can also pull up to the garage door, get out of your car and press the buzzer next to the pedestrian door, and then you can get back in your car and wait. This will clue them in to your presence quicker, but of course involves getting out of your car in the cold!

Just remember patience :)
