When you are grieving a baby, babies, or child, the holiday season can mean heartache and another milestone reminding you just how different your life is compared to the one you'd dreamed of. Whether you grieve what you never had but worked for and wanted dearly, or are grieving a child you had for far too short a time, this grief is real and often lonely.
For this, I am sorry. It's not fair. None of this is.
It is important to honor your experience, to ritualize and express feelings and hold these little beings up into the light. In that spirit, Life Healing Life is offering an opportunity for ritual and healing - December 21st from 6:30-8:30pm come to Life Healing Life and light a candle, write a note, bring an offering, picture, or baby item in honor of babes lost.
Open to ALL women and couples, you need not be a LHL patient to attend. Non-denominational - everyone will have the space to honor and practice whatever version of spiritual tradition feels right to them in a safe and open-hearted environment. Please share with anyone you think might appreciate this event. Candles and paper with markers for notes will be provided, feel free to bring other items (photos, baby items, your own special candle or ornament, whatever feels right). If you have NOT been to LHL please email Nicole@lifehealinglife.com to get information on finding the unmarked clinic door and for parking options.
The statue above is a representation of Jizo, who is said to protect women and children who are traveling between the realms of existence. He also represents the vow to aspire to save all beings from suffering. He is often found in Japan at small roadside temples dedicated to children and babies who have died.
