Do your online forms.
Complete all of the applicable forms online at least 48 hours prior to your first appointment. I encourage you to submit them as soon as you can to make sure everything goes smoothly. I love early!
Plan on spending about 45 minutes to complete all of the forms. Because everything is interconnected in holistic medicine, the more thorough your responses are, the better. I will use your answers to help design a nuanced treatment plan and menu of options for you to work from.

Payment is required at the time of your visit. I accept credit cards, debit cards, cash, checks or HSA cards. I am always happy to provide you with procedure and diagnosis codes, as well as other information you may need for HSA reporting or for requesting reimbursement from your insurance - just ask.

Be in the know.
Eat something within 4 or 5 hours of your visits, and avoid extreme exercise prior to acupuncture. If you are very hungry or exhausted, acupuncture may result in feeling light-headed or nauseated.
Cold or illness?
If you are only mildly ill, acupuncture is wonderful to get you back on your feet and I am happy to see you when this is the case. If you are too sick to go to work, I do ask you to cancel your visit and rest instead. I will happily reschedule you and send you some tips for self care.
Acupuncture is appropriate at any phase of your menstrual cycle. I will always follow where you are in your cycle and adjust my point selection to best fit your current phase.
Check-in and chat.
We will always have time to check in and chat prior to each treatment. This time may be used for updates, Q&A, or education as needed.
During your treatments.
Your pulse and tongue may be observed. I will always make sure to share and explain what it is that I am seeing.
Acupuncture is typically done with most clothing on. If possible, wear loose clothes that are comfortable to lay down and rest in. If you need to remove an item for your treatment I will always make sure you are properly draped.
A typical acupuncture treatment with me involves 10 - 20 acupuncture needles and the possible addition of other modern and traditional Chinese medicine accessory techniques.
Acupuncture needles will be retained for 20 - 30 minutes per session. All of my rooms have dimmable lighting, eye pillows, a variety of music or meditations to select, white noise devices, table heaters, infrared heaters, and a bell to ring should you need anything. You should feel totally pampered and peaceful.
If you are nervous about needles, don’t be afraid to let me know. I have some great techniques to help you give it a try and most women end up loving it!
Education is key.
Education is key to my approach. Acupuncture is a great reset and springboard for change, but when combined with education and DIY options that feel doable and appealing, we can work as a team. You’ll feel better faster and maintain longer lasting results.
